Sparq Analyzer helps ICA Maxi in Helsingborg evaluate its battery

Together with our partner Kurikonsult (Kuri), Sparq is supporting ICA Maxi retailers on their way to electrification.
Magnus Carlsson’s ICA Maxi Stormarknad in Berga, Helsingborg, is already a very green store, with solar power and a range of investments to reduce both power demand and energy consumption. Now the next step is being taken – good can become better.
Can the battery support the business – and generate revenue?
Kuri will run a simulation and examine how the store’s existing battery performs today. The primary focus is to tackle power peaks, since power is a major cost for an ICA store. The evaluation runs over six months, and one of the questions to answer is whether the battery can also be used for flexibility services.
Sparq Analyzer on site
As Kuri’s partner, Sparq is installing our Analyzer package – a fully Swedish EMS with PLC – to make sure the store’s operational needs are met.
More stores in the pipeline
Kuri is currently logging data at three ICA Maxi stores and acts as their objective adviser in electrifying the business. A power assessment has been started at ICA Maxi Högskolan in Halmstad and at ICA Maxi in Hässleholm, and work on an electrification strategy for the stores is also in the pipeline. The stores involved are ICA Maxi Högskolan (Halmstad), ICA Maxi Stormarknad (Helsingborg) and ICA Maxi Hässleholm, together with ICA Fastigheter.
We are grateful for our collaboration with Kuri and look forward to helping ICA retailers take control of their energy together.
