Sparq's own Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) — a dedicated commercial structure that delivers ancillary services to the Swedish grid, including mFRR (manual Frequency Restoration Reserve). By aggregating flexible battery capacity behind the SPV, Sparq helps balance supply and demand on the grid while building a stable, long-term revenue stream from the ancillary services market.
Verdis needed to charge a fleet of 20+ electric waste-collection trucks every night, but the site's grid connection wasn't sufficient to support it. Together with PVESS, Sparq delivered a containerized BESS to buffer the load — enabling reliable overnight charging for the whole fleet without a costly grid upgrade.

Installed in the basement of an office building in Karlskrona, this 250 kW / 295 kWh system sits indoors in cabinets. The installation was completed smoothly and at record speed, thanks to thorough planning, strong collaboration, and effective communication—nearly every aspect proceeded as intended. The system is primarily focused on providing ancillary services while also supporting behind-the-meter optimization.

The system is built with battery modules inside of the container which enables capacity expansion without a full system replacement, reducing long-term costs for the end-client.

A fully EU-made concept for smaller BESS products in Europe. A 500kW / 602kWh battery storage system, fully designed in Sweden, containerized in Gothenburg, and delivered to our client in Örnsköldsvik. The system consists of a fire extinguishing system from Siemens, a Swedish-made EMS, and 42 battery modules of 14.3 kWh.
A 500 kW 600 kWh system installed in cabinets indoors. Special attention was given not only to the installation planning but also to the ventilation setup. This project also provided valuable opportunities to engage with insurance companies, helping them better understand the chemical differences between LFP and NCM technologies—and highlighting the critical importance of a high-quality fire protection system in a BESS.
